Perly's original owners were Harry and Mary Perlstein. Mary met and married Harry in England during World War II. She moved to America in 1945. They opened Perly's in 1961 in Richmond.
Perly's is now called Perly's Delicatessen Restaurant under new ownership. The menu continues with the traditional Jewish foods but with a modern flare.
I cannot recommend Perly's Delicatessen Restaurant enough. "It's Yiddish for delicious." And it is just around the corner from Linden Row where we stayed. They have the best French toast that I have ever tasted! I also had their beef bacon and it was amazing.
